met this young couple today. you could feel how much they love each other just from the look in their eyes and their handholding. they were with a child. with parents like this, it almost feels like the child is made out of pure energy, a personification of the love they have for each other.

kinda reminds me of that white lie my mother used to tell me when i was little, that all it takes for two people to have a baby is that they love each other. kinda wish that was true.

but what is love anyway? i have this theory that we might see completely different things, but since language is relational, we would never know. and with feelings and emotions, it gets even more complex, since for some we don’t even have words or they are indescribable.

for some, love contains safety, for others, excitement, stability, fun – i don’t know what else. some people were confused their whole lives because their caregivers made them believe that abuse is what love looks like.

well, maybe kids actually are a personification of what their parents feel towards each other, at least in the beginning. then it's up to everyone how they decide to unfold.
