I don't visit my hometown very often, so whenever I do, it's almost my duty to visit my grandmother. Unfortunately, where she lives, the rest of the family is usually present as well, which means many children and a lot of noise in general. This often leads to situations where we see each other after a long time, but we can't really have a proper conversation because my grandmother's attention is divided among several activities, and I can't put together a coherent sentence because I'm overstimulated.

Today, I chose a different approach and took my grandmother and grandfather for a walk. It felt better. One has to get them out of that home environment. However, both of them have heart issues, so they're not up for any big tours, especially when it's as hot as it was today.

I don't usually realize how much freedom I gain through a healthy body, and how I feel today is probably the best I will ever feel

I've been thinking about whether the constant chaos caused by the children tires my grandparents or benefits them. It's life in full power after all, and that can positively impact their minds and bodies.

What saddens me the most is when elderly people have to move away from the place where they've spent their entire lives, to a completely unfamiliar environment among strangers, and they become isolated from their "real" life.

Note to myself: I also need to figure out how to bring out the other grandmother.
