Today we managed to set off surprisingly early. The sunny weather could only lead us to one place – the waterfront! This time we chose a place we had never seen before, namely the swimming spot by the La Banchina bistro/café, located in the area of the former docks (across the water from the little mermaid).

The whole area has a punky funky vibe, which is charming. It kind of looks like a place where anyone can come and open a bistro, set up a garden, or like a place where some kind of festival is constantly taking place.

The swimming spot itself is part of the café, which we naturally welcomed. What's even better, K and I was pleased to find a baguette with butter on the menu (simple but exceptionally delicious) and filtered coffee. Moments like this – when I can lie in the sun, occasionally dip into the refreshing water, sip coffee and apple juice, and enjoy bread with butter. This is what I want from life I guess.

On the way back, we stopped in the city center. With a sunburned face, I acknowledged that it would be appropriate to get a hat. But why is it such a complicated task? Either they are too shallow for my big head, too branded, or just cheaply executed... So, the search for the essential cap continues.

In the evening, we set out to explore the local falafel scene. Reddit recommended the Falafel Factory, so we started there. The falafel was good but not outstanding, just a decent falafel. We decided to eat it at the cemetery, which is something I can't imagine being pleasant in the Czech Republic (where I live). However, since the cemeteries in the center of Copenhagen also function as public parks, there's nothing strange about it. On the contrary, it seems nice that death is connected to life in this way, and those people are still part of the public space/public life. I don't think it contradicts their eternal rest.

three things I am proud of myself for:
– taking a dip, even though the water was so cold it hurt
– finishing the mid-Erasmus report
– not running away from challenging conversations

take care 🌱
