Today, just briefly.
I had a work morning that stretched until around 2 p.m., and then K and I headed to Humlebæk, not far away, where the Louisiana Art Museum is located. I'm usually not a particularly enthusiastic fan of traditional art, but thanks to the architectural qualities of the exhibition buildings and, even more so, the outdoor surroundings, it was worth a visit. We liked it so much that we spent the whole day there.
I liked how both the museum buildings and the outdoor environment were situated on different levels of terrain, creating separate spaces that each had its own specific character.
Personally, I feel that the only meaningful art in galleries and museums is found in the gift shop. This thought will require further exploration, but I don't feel like delving into it now.
Every time I find myself in an art bookstore, I feel conflicted. On one hand, most of those coffee table books look very interesting, but upon closer examination, the reader is confronted with very shallow content. On one hand, I would like to transfer the contents of the bookstore to my own apartment, so I could leaf through beautiful pictures, but on the other hand, I realize the pointlessness of most of them.
Take care 🌱
